Volunteer Development
This initiative trains volunteers from the community. The newcomers are given an opportunity in the areas of social work. In addition, volunteers are given extensive training to assume the role of ‘mentors’. These mentors are then assigned to ‘clients’. The clients and mentors work together on a long-term basis to reduce isolation and loneliness. Through mentorship, clients are empowered towards self-sufficiency.
